Dawn Johnson, Program Director/Instructor:
 I started as a student at the Academy of Medical Professions. I had been working in the restaurant business for 20 years and wanted a change. I saw an advertisement in the local adult education flier
and liked the idea of working from home.
Upon completion of the course, I was immediately hired by Transcription Associates, Inc., the sister company of the school, as a medical transcriptionist, and was later asked to teach a few local
medical terminology/medical transcription classes. I eventually became program director for the school.
I hold an associate's degree in accounting, a bachelor's in behavioral science, and a certificate in medical terminology and medical transcription. |
Doreen Boivin:
 Doreen Boivin serves as president and CEO of Chiro Practice, a health care consulting firm based
in Saco, ME, and has more than 12 years experience in the health care industry. She has written Compliance and Red Flag Policies that are used nationally. She is the current Vice President for
the Maine Chiropractic Assistant’s Association. She teaches CPT coding and is a member of
AAPC. |
Dianne Tilton:
 Originally from Boston Massachusetts and wife of a Retired USAF Master Sergeant with whom
I traveled overseas and throughout the continental United States. My background has been as
a Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician and have 22 years as a Pharmacy Technician, the past 8 as a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician.
My scope of practice has been both in a retail and hospital pharmacy setting, with 3 years as
a Pharmacy Technician Instructor/Trainer for one of Maine's largest Corporations.
My current position is with the Academy of Medical Professions instructing the Pharmacy
Technician Course and as advisor for the on-line technician students. |
Karen Perry:
My name is Karen Perry and I am a certified coder along with an instructor for Academy of Medical Professionals. I have
been in the medical field for over 25 years. I am a biller/coder for a busy orthopedic office and prior to that a specialist
office for 12 years. I have been teaching billing and coding for Academy of Medical Professionals for the past 7-8 years.
I enjoy coding and teaching, along with spending time with my husband and 3 growing boys. I received my certification
in 2005 and continue to educate myself as the changes in the medical field continue.

Robin Devine, BS, MBA, CPC:
 Robin is employed by HCA as a medical billing and coding specialist. She has experience
in family practice, internal medicine, hospitalist and emergency room coding. Robin enjoys
teaching students in all courses related to the medical office environment. She is a member
of the American Academy of Professional Coders
